Lil' Troy was born and raised in SouthPark, Houston Texas, delivered into a musical family. Troy, whosays that he believes strongly in education, played the alto saxand was first chair throughout high school in the band. Hebelieves that his childhood background is the main reason behindhis love for the music business. His mother was even given anoffer to go on the road and record with LouRawls (yes , The Lou Rawls).According toTroy,"She declined because she had only recently beenmarried to his father, and she did not want to leave him"."I'm glad she didn't go because everything would have beendifferent and I might not even be here."

It has already gone Gold(sold over 500,000 copies as of Mid July '99) and is on strongpace to the million mark. With the producing and mixing talentsof Grim, there isnothing that can stop this album. In a recent interview by Music Magazine Troywas asked who his inspirations and mentorswere, "I look up to J ( Prince J, CEOof Rap-A-Lot Records), Master P, Easy E, andTony Draper, (CEO of Suave House RecordsERROR MSG)"."I look up to these people for starting and running theircompanies themselves, just like me".
Lil'Troy has recently signed a recording dealwith Universal Records whichmeans one will be hearing a lot more of this talentedproducer/artist in the future.
